A brief history of the Chicago & North Western Iowa Division mainline, now part of the Overland Route:

06/26/21

This standard through girder bridge crosses Mud Creek parallel to US-30 near Woodbine.
Built in 1902, the bridge only serves one track. An additional through girder span was added in 1998, when the second mainline was again added to this route.
The bridge rests on concrete and stone substructures. Another nearby configuration of bridges like this was replaced in 2018.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in fair condition. Some structural deterioration has begun to appear on the bridge.

The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
